Stained GlassStained glass is one of my favorite artistic mediums as both material to work with and the finished products. I love how beautiful the glass is on it's own and strive to find ways to showcase that beauty without overpowering it. |
Duct Tape ArtMy involvement in duct tape art has been inspired by one of my good friends. I use mostly Duck Tape brand, as I've found that Scotch brand doesn't cover as nicely or have as clean a look. |
SewingMy mother has been into sewing as long as I can remember and in the past few years, she has inspired me to join her. We've had lots of fun making many pieces together, but this gallery shows only the pieces I have done on my own. |
Fiber ArtsIn the past few years, my mother has become obsessed with the fiber arts and, just as she did with sewing, she has inspired me to join her. Together, we do all sorts of projects, from spinning yarn to plying it to knitting and crocheting with both homemade and store-bought yarn. |
CharcoalI've loved to draw as long as I can remember, but I never liked charcoal until recently. It seemed too messy to be able to create accurate pieces with. However, last year, I was forced to work with charcoal in my art class, and I quickly learned to love it. Most of my drawings are now done in charcoal. |
GraphiteI've always enjoyed drawing and, until recently, graphite was my weapon of choice. I like how clean of a piece you can make with graphite. |
PastelsI first worked with pastels in my high school art class. This was followed by a five year hiatus, in which I didn't touch pastels at all. I took up this medium again in my last semester at Olin. I enjoyed it more at this point, having gotten more familiar with charcoal; the two mediums are very similar. |
Chinese PaintingMy first semester as a junior at Olin, I took a course on Chinese Painting at Wellesley College. I enjoyed the class very much and did not let my interest in the subject die although the course ended. |
