Sibb Sign
Why?
At my college, every freshman is paired with an upperclassman, called a big Sibb, to act as their mentor. I already have one little Sibb, Caleb. But this year, I signed up to get a second underclassman Sibb. His name is Jacob. I haven't met him yet, so I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling he's going to be an awesome Sibb! Anyways, every year, there's a Sibb barbecue for everyone to get to know each other. And at that barbecue, all of the big Sibbs make signs for their new little Sibbs. Last year, I made Caleb a stained glass sign. This year, I'm making a variation on that design, where the outer portion will be milled aluminum and the inner portion will be stained glass.
How?
First I will design the sign. Then, I will mill out the letters in an aluminum plate. I will then cut pieces of glass to make a border around the aluminum name plate and solder them in place. Since solder doesn't stick to aluminum, I will have to copper tape the plate just like I do the glass.
